A new parenting class begins Wednesday, September 2, 6:15 p.m. Using Dr. Tony Evans’ book, “Raising Kingdom Kids”, the class will focus on equipping parents to raise children with a Kingdom perspective, and will offer practical “how-to” advice on providing spiritual training as instructed in the scripture. AWANA is fun and exciting for kids of all ages. In a positive, loving atmosphere, children can gain confidence and a sense of accomplishment as they earn badges, prizes, and other awards as the memorize God’s Word. AWANA motivates children spiritually, emotionally and physically.
Each Wednesday, from 6:15-7:30 p.m., (from September to May), “clubbers” enjoy rotating between the three distinct segments of the AWANA program: Game Time, Handbook Time, and Large Group Time. There are active games at the AWANA Circle in the gym during Game Time; Bible verses and practical application during Handbook Time in designated classrooms; Bible study and awards in the Large Group Time in the Kids Zone Theater.

The Children’s Ministry (Kindergarten- 5th Grade) will celebrate Purim with a carnival in the Children’s Theater on March 16 from 4-6 pm. with food, carnival games, and costumes. Children are invited to dress as their favorite character from the Purim story. Giving to the needy is part of the traditional celebration so we will be collecting canned goods to donate to Amazing Love Ministries.
This year’s Vacation Bible School theme is Agency D3: Discover, Decide, Defend based on 1 Peter 3:15. VBS will be the week of June 16-20 where children will discover, decide, and defend the truth about who Jesus is. Invite your friends and family to join in on the action.
In January 2014, we will launch a prayer walking initiative with the goal of praying over all of South Tampa from I-275 south. During prayer walks, teams of 2-4 people walk along designated streets and pray for what they see, being sure to note needs and opportunities for advancing the gospel. The area has been divided into 12 major areas with a number sections within each. Families and individuals can take maps of assigned areas to prayer walk at their convenience and we also schedule corporate times to prayer walk. My Hope America is a nationwide campaign sponsored by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association designed to present the gospel using life-changing testimonies and messages from Billy Graham.
