How to Join

The most common way to join the church is by doing so during the invitation time near the end of a Sunday morning worship service. An individual, couple, or family may come forward to the altar area of the Worship Center and present themselves for membership to the Senior Pastor or one of our Associate Pastors in any of the following ways:

By Profession of Faith and Baptism | You publicly express your faith in Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and desire to be baptized at an upcoming worship service.

By Baptism | You have previously made a public profession of faith but having never been baptized by immersion subsequent to this profession. You express your desire to be baptized by immersion at this time and become a member of First Baptist Church of Tampa.

By Transfer of Letter | You are coming from another Church of like faith and seeking to join First Baptist Church of Tampa by requesting a transfer of letter from the previous Baptist Church of which you were a member in good standing.

By Statement | You are coming from another denomination or perhaps a Church that is no longer in existence, but you have made a public profession of faith and been subsequently baptized by immersion. You may simply come forward and join on the basis of your statement of this fact.

All new members must complete a new member course called, Thriving Together before they are considered official members. This four-session course is offered throughout the year. Participants must register in advance. People who are exploring membership are also encouraged to take this course before seeking membership. For more information about this course, contact Brian Dembowczyk, Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Assimilation.
